Kiko Caramat is a writer and poet from Quezon City, Philippines. He has forthcoming work in Singapore Unbound's Suspect Journal, and & (Ampersand). You can find some of his published work in Likhaan: the Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Passionfruit Review, Cordite Poetry Review, Bulawan Literary Journal of Northern Mindanao, Dagmay, Philippine Daily Inquirer, and elsewhere.

For his poetry in English and Filipino, he has received recognition from the Padya Leoncio Deriada para sa Panulatan, Gémino H. Abad Awards for Poetry and Literary Criticism, Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio Literary Contest, Premyong LIRA, and Gawad Takós. He was also shortlisted for the 2024 Alpine Prize for Poetry. He was a fellow for poetry at the 63rd Silliman University National Writers Workshop and the 25th IYAS La Salle National Writers Workshop.

He previously worked in and with indigenous Manobo communities in the southern Philippines, helping to advance their struggle for land, democratic rights, and self-determination. His experiences in the mountain communities of the Pantaron greatly informs his artistic practice. His work primarily explores the dynamic interplay of forest environments, Philippine flora and fauna, indigenous cultures, and national liberation movements and social struggles in the time of global capitalism.

He currently runs a doggie daycare with his partner.
